Common questions

What happens in the free 20-minute call?
We talk briefly about what brings you and how I work, and you can ask anything you like. There's no obligation to book after it, and no charge.
How often would we meet?
Usually once a week, at the same time each week. Some people prefer fortnightly once things settle; we agree that together.
How long will counselling last?
There's no fixed number of sessions. Some people come for a few weeks, others for a year or more. We review how the work is going regularly.
Which platform do we use?
Sessions take place on Google Meet, a secure video platform. You don't need to install anything if you use Gmail or a browser — just a quiet, private place and a stable connection.
How will I get the link?
Once we agree a time, I send a short confirmation by email with the Google Meet link, and a reminder with the same link before each session, so you always know where and when we are meeting.
What time zone are sessions in?
All sessions are booked in UK time (GMT/BST).
How do I pay?
By bank transfer, before or on the day of the session.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. What we discuss stays between us, with the usual legal and ethical exceptions relating to risk of serious harm. I discuss my work anonymously in regular clinical supervision, as required by the BACP.
