About
Laura
Person-Centred Counsellor
I'm Laura and I have six years' experience in counselling practice. I studied the Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling at LC&CTA College, in London.
In 2010 I worked as a support worker in a homeless care centre for young people in Spain. In that period, I realised how much I wanted to support others to connect with their ability to thrive, by acknowledging their own resilience, skills and capabilities. Today I see my work as a counsellor as a way of creating a space where you can comfortably slow down, hear yourself more clearly and find your way forward.

My path
My interest in counselling began in 2018, sparked by a personal process of growth that allowed me to experience first-hand the value of a supportive relationship built on listening, acceptance and authenticity. That same year I started my training in Counselling Skills at Lambeth College, London, beginning a journey of personal and professional development that continues to this day.
My practice is rooted in Carl Rogers' Person-Centred approach: a way of working that trusts each person's own capacity to grow, find meaning and discover their own resources when they feel genuinely heard and understood. This remains the foundation of my work.
I have continued to deepen my practice through further training in Gestalt awareness, which helps me attend more fully to the here-and-now: what a person feels, senses in their body and experiences in relationship with themselves and others. This training informs how I listen and respond, but I do not mix modalities; Person-Centred practice remains at the heart of my work.
I also have a particular interest in working with trauma from a relational perspective. I attended the Certificate in Relational Approach to the Treatment of Trauma in person at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham between 2024 and 2025, which deepened my understanding of how past experiences can be held in the body and shaped in our closest relationships.
While my training includes a range of perspectives, I work within a single, coherent Person-Centred approach. I bring these insights gently and responsively, adapting to what each person needs in the moment.

Why I do this
Because I believe that being genuinely heard matters, and that emotional wellbeing isn't a luxury. And because accompanying someone through their own process is, for me, a serious and rigorous form of care.
Training
My practice is held within the ethical frameworks of recognised professional bodies and complies with UK data protection law.
